It’s Britney!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , on January 26, 2012 by kellizink

FlyWheel Spin is always mixing it up with theme classes- and last night’s was an entire hour of Britney Spears.

The class filled up a week before, so instead I did the class before with my friend Kevin Aeh. Our instructor Michael Wollpert showed us his Britney costume before class and it looked insane.

But then we stuck around after to snap some photo proof.

Is your workout this fun?

Love.

I’m going to Cabo in March and am already looking for bright and fun pieces to take on the trip- even though it’s freezing in Chicago.

I love these Kayne wedges by Rachel Zoe:

I’m not a huge fan, but she looks great in this photo…and you gotta wonder what’s about to go down with that spray paint.

This hits close to home today, as I am suffering thru various “tricks” for how to look my best for a photo shoot tomorrow.

Kreate Beauty

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , on January 19, 2012 by kellizink

I follow all types of people on Twitter, one being make up artist Kristofer Buckle.

He’s legit- check out his clients: kristoferbuckle.com.

Last week he tweeted about some eye lashes he loves- Kreate Beauty- and I had to try them.

They arrived today and I am in love. I got the “sweet individuals” which come in three lengths- one for lower lashes. They are the most natural looking lashes I’ve ever put on and are weightless. At 18 bucks a pop they’re a bit pricey, but if you’re looking for something that will add an extra pop without anyone noticing you’re faking it, then they are so worth it.

Love is Out

From Out Magazine’s “Love Issue” featuring Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka.

David says:

We talk on the phone at least eight times a day and text at least 25 times a day. We are, in a way, very codependent. He’s my lifeline, in an amazing way. Without him, I can’t breathe. The biggest thing is that he makes me laugh, but he’s also smart.

How can we not approve of marriage for everyone?

Dirty Diet

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , on January 18, 2012 by kellizink

Yesterday  my co worker Megan Fox (yes, that’s her name) alerted me to Shayne Lamas’s SIICK post baby body.

Shayne was on The Bachelor, had some reality show on E! and is Lorenzo Lamas’s daughter. She’s also married to Nik Richie- the guy who created and runs TheDirty.com.

She just had a kid and looks amazing…so we did some research. Turns out, Shayne posted her diet plan on her blog: LamasRichie.com.

I get asked often by friends what a great diet plan is, and this is pretty spot on. Check it out:

LamasRichie.com:

I schedule 5 meals a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner with 2 snacks mid-morning and mid-afternoon. No sugar, no bread, no pasta, no white rice, no cereal (except Ezekiel cereal), no soft drinks, no overly sugar based juices.  I keep the same schedule but try and change up the foods daily.  I try and eat every 3 to 4 hours and if I’m in a rush and don’t have time, I just make a shake.  I drink water about 30 minutes before each meal and stay VERY WELL hydrated through the day.  With this diet, the cellan and a daily 4 mile walk (stroll with Press sometimes), I think any woman can do this.

Breakfast
-2 tlbs. Of Ezekiel Cereal
-2 tlbs. Of Organic Oatmeal
-Soy milk
-Blueberries, Raspberries or Honey
Snack 1
-Apple, Trail Mix, Orange, or a Banana
Lunch
-Chicken Breast, Fish, or Turkey
-Brown Rice(1/4 of a cup)
-Lots of Greens with Spinach.
-Fruit Juice
Snack 2
-Unsalted almonds(raw and rosted), sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds(raw and roasted), or dried Cranberries
Dinner
-Chicken Breast, Fish, Turkey (Which ever I did not have for lunch)
-Asparagus, spinach, Greens
-Cottage Cheese and fruit
- Glass of Wine
Supplements I take:
-Fish Oil, 1 with each meal.
-Cellan, 1 soon as I wake up, 1 mid-day and 1 later afternoon.
-Krill Oil, 1 with each snack
-Trans-Resveratrol, 1 with each meal.

Really healthy Shakes/Meal Replacements.
Shake 1 – no more than 2 daily
1)      8-12 oz of Bottled Water and/or Unsweetened Coconut Milk
2)      1/3 of a Banana or 4-8 Blueberries
3)      2/3-1 scoop of Total Body Greens (Berry or Chocolate Flavor – or alternate)
4)      1/2-2/3 scoop of Garden of Life RAW Protein Powder
5)      1/3 scoop of Olympian Lab Pea Protein Powder
6)      1/3 scoop of Nutiva Hemp Protein Powder
7)      1/2 scoop of Gold Standard Natural Whey Protein Powder (Vanilla)
8)      4-6 Ice Cubes
Shake 2 - no more than 1 daily
1)      8-12 oz of Bottled Water and/or Unsweetened Coconut Milk
2)      1/3 of a Banana or 4-8 Blueberries
3)      1 scoop of Total Body Greens (Berry or Chocolate Flavor – or alternate)
4)      1/2 scoop of Garden of Life RAW Protein Powder
5)      1/3 scoop of Olympian Lab Pea Protein Powder
6)      1/3 scoop of Nutiva Hemp Protein Powder
7)      1/3 scoop of Gold Standard Natural Whey Protein Powder (Vanilla)
8)      1/2-2/3 scoop of Gold Standard Casein Protein Powder (Vanilla)
9)      4-6 Ice Cubes

I know this sounds like hell, but it works for me and gets rapid results. Be dedicated LR Ladies.

I’d Rather Be Naked

Olivia Munn is the latest celeb to pose naked for PETA. I’m in love with these ads- and it would be my dream to pose for PETA.

Erie and Lasalle

Last night I attended the Friends and Family dinner at Tavernita. I was blown away by the decor, food and cocktails.

I may be a bit biased, since I’ve been close to this project from the start- but that also means I know exactly what to order and which dishes are Chef Ryan Poli’s favorites.

Here’s what you should try:

CRUDO BAR-

I loved the fluke with artichokes, tomatoes and pine nuts. Also try the oysters of the day.

EN PAN-

Escalivada- it’s like bruschetta but with marinated and grilled veggies. It’s topped with the best goat cheese you’ve ever tasted.

Pan Con Tomate-

Similar to the escalivada, but with a sweet tomato taste and burrata cheese.

Coco de Pato-

Flatbread with duck. I haven’t tried it since I don’t eat duck- but from the beginning Chef and the tasters have loved it.

PLATOS-

Croquetas- think of a jalapeno popper but with ham. Another dish I haven’t tried this variety of (meat), but I’ve had a potato version and it’s amazing.

Brussels Sprouts-They don’t taste like the disgusting veggie you remember…I promise.

Patatas- These have been my favorite for a while, and I tasted many varieties in Spain. Chef’s are topped with an egg and can be served with or without the chorizo.

Corn Pudding- OMG. This is 100 percent my favorite dish. It tastes like cornbread pudding. I can’t even do it justice.

Scallops- When I first tried this dish, I was a bit hesitant because I’d never had scallops with grapes. But over the past few months Chef has perfected the sauce- we literally fought over who finished the dish.

Greg’s Meatballs- Greg is the sous chef and I know that the guys spent weeks fine tuning their meatball recipe until everyone was happy. The guys I talked to last night all loved this dish.

COCKTAILS:

My favorite was The Turista- which is tequila based and has a bite to it…and almost a ginger undertone.

Pictured- Patatas awesomeness
